3 Soldiers Killed In Action In J&K Army Camp Attack

Three Indian army troops made the supreme sacrifice after two terrorists attempted to infiltrate an army company operating base in Pargal in the Darhal area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. Both the terrorists of the suspected suicide group were gunned by the security forces.

“Someone (terrorists) tried to cross the fence of Army camp at Pargal. Sentry challenged and exchange of fire took place,” Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh said.

Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone was quoted by ANI as saying, “Someone tried to cross the fence of the Army camp at Pargal in Darhal area of Rajouri. Exchange of fire took place. Additional parties despatched for the location, 6 km from Darhal PS. Two terrorists killed.”

An encounter broke out after terrorists attempted a suicide attack on an Army company operating base. Five jawans were also injured in the exchange of fire. The operation has now ended, the Indian Army confirmed.

A day earlier, security forces had killed three militants of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, including Lateef Rather who was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit employee Rahul Bhat in May, in an encounter in Jammu Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off and additional troops have been deployed.

This attack comes days before Independence Day celebrations, due to which security has been beefed up across the country.
