Three women farmers died while two others sustained injuries after a tipper hit them early on Thursday morning. The incident took place near Pakoda Chowk of Bahadurgarh.
The women were reportedly sitting on the divider, waiting for an auto-rickshaw when the truck hit them. The driver of the truck ran away from the accident scene, police said. Initial reports suggest that the women belonged to the Mansa district in Punjab.
Satnam Singh, a farmer present at the site of the accident, told The Indian Express that two more women protestors had also been injured, one of whom is admitted to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, with serious injuries.
The incident created a sensation in the area and police rushed to the spot and started an investigation. You must be aware that farmers’ agitation has been going on along the Delhi border since November 2020 against the three agricultural laws of the Central Government. The three women were also associated with the same movement and the women were about to go home under rotation, but before that death embraced them.
