During the crackdown on PFI, four arrests have also been made in Meerut. The team of ATS and NIA has shown the arrest of Mohammad Shadab alias Azim Qasmi, Mufti Shahzad, Maulana Sajid and Mohammad Islam Qasmi in Kharkhoda area of Meerut. Mohammad Shadab is a resident of Chhota Rasulpur Thana Bhawan Shamli, while Mufti Shahzad is said to be a resident of Nek village of Muradnagar.
Maulana Sajid is a resident of Mamor village in Shamli’s Kairana area. Mohammad Islam Qasmi Parsoli is said to be a resident of Fugana Muzaffarnagar. ATS and NIA team have registered a case against them in Kharkhoda Thane under several sections including conspiracy, indulging in anti-national activities, Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
Evidence has been found against the accused indulging in anti-national activities by Popular Front of India and some other Islamic organizations. Because of this, action has been taken against them. Input has been received that planning was being done to target Hindus by instigating Muslim people and to carry out the incidents of target killing.
The team of NIA and other intelligence agencies are currently interrogating the arrested accused. Their mobile and other documents are also being checked.
Those who have been in the contact of the accused in the last few days are also being called for questioning.
