Police found several suspicious items, which are used to make explosives, from the house of Jameja Mubeen, a 25-year-old youth who was killed in the Coimbatore car blast case in Tamil Nadu.
After this the chain of events took a new turn. Now 5 people have been arrested in the case. Strict action is being taken against all under UAPA Act. Police is probing the incident from the angle of a terrorist connection.
Action has been taken against five people under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in the Coimbatore cylinder blast case. Tamil Nadu police have recovered potassium nitrate, aluminum powder, charcoal and sulfur from the house of 25-year-old Jameeja Mubeen, who was killed in the blast. Which is used to make bombs.
A 25-year-old man died when a gas cylinder inside a car exploded near the Kottai Easwaran temple in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore on Sunday. Shocking facts came to light during the investigation in the case. After which the investigation has now taken another turn. The police is now taking action as part of the terrorist conspiracy.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Jameeja Mubeen. Earlier an inquiry was held in the matter. At the same time, the cylinder blast case is being investigated.
During the search of Jamija’s house, some explosives, which are of low intensity, were recovered by the police. Apart from this, the police also recovered a CCTV footage, in which four people were seen carrying an item wrapped in a sack outside Jamija’s residence on the day of the blast.

Tamil Nadu police recovered low intensity explosive material from Jameeja’s house and said that the confiscated material like potassium nitrate was kept for use in making deadly explosives in future.
Pulin said, “We found nails, marbles and other items in the car which are being examined by the forensic team. After searching Jamija Mubeen’s house, we found some less intense explosives- potassium nitrate, aluminum powder, charcoal, sulphur, which were used to make bombs.
The police arrested five people based on the CCTV footage. The five accused were identified as Muhammad Talka, Mohammad Azharuddin, Mohammad Riaz, Firoz Ismail and Mohammad Nawaz Ismail.
Coimbatore Police Commissioner Balakrishnan said the five accused have been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. He said that the National Investigation Agency had also questioned some of them in 2019.
The BJP hit out at the ruling DMK over the Coimbatore cylinder blast, alleging that the incident exposed an “intelligence failure”.
Tamil Nadu BJP said, “How long will it take for the chief minister to admit that intelligence has failed… bring back professionals… Home department had solid professionals, who were good at tackling terrorism.”
In response, DMK minister V Senthilbalaji accused the opposition party leaders of creating unrest in Tamil Nadu after a political battle over the Coimbatore car blast.
V Senthilbalaji said that “the desire of foxes disguised as sheep will not be fulfilled.”
Without naming the BJP, V Senthilbalaji hit out at “those trying to create unrest in Tamil Nadu”. He also warned that anyone who tries to defame state government institutions will face strict legal action.
