Normal life has been disturbed due to clouds raining as a disaster in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the Madras High Court has issued a warning to the Chennai Corporation for “failure to take adequate measures to prevent floods in the city during rains” and asked what the authorities were doing after the 2015 floods. The court has also warned to take suo motu action if the water logging situation is not controlled in the state. So far 5 people have died in rain-related incidents in Tamil Nadu and more than 538 kutcha houses have suffered heavy damage.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a big danger in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. A cyclonic storm can reach here in the next 24 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert indicating heavy rain in 13 districts of Tamil Nadu for the next 24 hours. At the same time, in some areas, the process of heavy rain may continue till November 11.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain will occur in Bangalore City, Bangalore Rural, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chikmagalur, Chitradurga, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysore, Ramanagara and Shivamogga districts today. At the same time, it is going to rain in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada. There will also be light rain in the districts of North Interior Karnataka.

The Meteorological Department has asked to be on ‘alert’ for the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Theni, Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts on Tuesday. In a bulletin, the department said that a low pressure area is expected to form over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas during the next 24 hours. It is expected to reach north Tamil Nadu coast by the morning of November 11 and cause heavy rainfall in many areas of the state. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for fishing between November 9 and 12.
