As generative artificial intelligence like ChatGPT and Braid AI grab public attention, a Microsoft report revealed that 74 per cent of Indian workers expressed concern about AI replacing their jobs. However, the ‘Work Trend Index 2023’ report by Microsoft also states that more than 83 percent of the respondents are willing to delegate tasks to AI to reduce their workload. AI chatbots to replace or reduce the requirements of human workforce has been a cause of concern for many, especially those engaged in back office jobs.
However, a Microsoft report states that 75 percent of Indian employees are willing to use AI not only for administrative tasks (86 percent) but also for analytical tasks (88 percent) and even creative aspects of their roles (87 percent).
Despite the threat of artificial intelligence (AI) to some jobs, 83 percent of the country’s employees want to hand over more and more work to AI to reduce their workload. This has been revealed in a report released on Thursday.

However, according to Microsoft’s ‘Work Trend Index 2023 Report’, more than three-quarters of Indian workers are using AI not only for administrative tasks (86 per cent) but also for analytical work (88 per cent) and creative aspects of their roles (87 per cent).
Nearly 100 percent of creative professionals who are highly familiar with AI would be comfortable using AI for creative aspects of their work.
Meanwhile, Indian managers are 1.6 times more likely to say that AI will add value to the workplace by increasing productivity than cutting down on workforce.
Data has shown that AI is poised to create a new way of working and organizations that are first to adopt AI will break the traditional cycle, increasing creativity and productivity for all.
The next generation of AI will usher in a new wave of productivity enhancements, taking the drudgery out of our jobs and freeing us to rediscover the joy of creation,” said Bhaskar Basu, Country Head (Modern Work), Microsoft India.
Nearly 90 percent of Indian leaders said the workforce they hire will need new skills to prepare them for the growth of AI.
The report states that around 78 per cent of Indian workers say that currently they do not have proper time to complete their work.
