NIA: On Sunday, The NIA conducted raid in five different parts of the country, two of them in Bihar one in Patna and other one at Darbhanga. The NIA also carried out raid at Surat and Barilley in connection with a case against the “Ghazwa-e-Hind”. The radicalized module is run by Pakistan based outfits.
During the raids, incriminating materials that includes digital devices such as mobile phones, memory cards, SIM cards, and documents, were recovered.
On July 14 last year, Marghoob Ahmad Danish, also known as “Tahir,” was taken into custody by the Bihar Police in the Phulwari sharif neighbourhood of Patna. The NIA took over the investigation after 8 days of case against Tahir was registered.

Chargesheet against Danish was filed on January 6 with various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The NIA stated in its report stated “The accused was found to be a member of the Ghazwa-e-Hind module, which was operated by Pakistan-based operatives, with the objective of radicalizing impressionable youth for the establishment of Gazwa-e-Hind over Indian territory.”
The report also revealed Danish was the admin of a WhatsApp Group ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ which was operated by a Pak national named, Zain. In the WhatsApp group there were many Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Yemeni nationals who were working to establish sleeper cells in India to conduct terror related activities.
What is Gazwa-e-Hind?
‘Gazawa-e-Hind’ is an Islamic Hadith that was composed between 8th and 10th centuries A.D. ‘Hadiths’ in Islamic tradition are commentaries of Prophet Muhammad with its own philosophical tradtion. Some Hadiths are authenticated with historical evidences as actual sayings of the Prophet while others were artificially constructed by scholars. Gazwa-e hind falls in the latter category. The term literally means Conquest of India.
The Hadith expands on Conquest of India by Islamic armies before the final judgement day.
The Gazwa-e-Hind is used buy terror outfits primarily in South-Asia as a religious calling to justify attacks on India.
One of the primary works done by the WhatsApp group was to propgate the idea of Gazwa-e-Hind.
