Today, the Enforcement Directorate arrested the Member of Parliament of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sanjay Singh in the alleged liquor scam. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reacted to the arrest and said that they haven’t found a single penny even after thousands of raids, and did not get any at Sanjay Singh’s residence as well. Now, Delhi Jal Board Chairman Saurabh Bhardwaj, Delhi Education Minister Atishi Marlena, and National Spokesperson of AAP Priyanka Kakkar held a press conference and lashed out at the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and the Modi Government.
Saurabh Bhardwaj says Modi Government has fear of losing
During the press conference, Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “If you roam around on the ground, in the last few weeks, you come to know that there is tremendous negativity for the central government. People are not at all ready to put the Bharatiya Janata Party in the central government again. The Bharatiya Janata Party is losing in most of the states in the upcoming elections in the 5 states.”
Speaking about Sanjay Singh, he said, “Sanjay Singh, the strongest voice of the people in the Indian Parliament today, has been defeated without any evidence. He has not been arrested for a solid reason; this proves that the Prime Minister knows that he is losing the elections.”
He further said, “Every government which is moving towards dictatorship does such work through central agencies. It proves that when you think you will lose power, such acts come to the fore. No one has ever retained power with the help of the agencies, and it is likely to slip out of one’s hands faster.” He said that he would tweet this press conference after the 2024 elections.
Atishi Marlena also called the Modi Government ‘dictator’
Atishi Marlena said, “For the last 15 months, the central government of the Bharatiya Janata Party, all their agencies, hundreds of officers of those agencies are engaged in only one work, that somehow they can get evidence of even one rupee in this so-called scam against the Aadmi Party, but even after the last 15 months, not a single agency of the Bharatiya Janata Party has been able to present before the country the proof of a single rupee of corruption. The arrest of Sanjay Singh ji today has also been done without any evidence.” She said that this arrest had taken place because the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were afraid of Sanjay Singh and the Aam Aadmi Party.
She also condemned the detention of journalists, calling the Modi government a dictator. Atishi further said that Sanjay Singh’s house had only 4 rooms and it took 8 hours for ED to investigate it because it was a pre-planned conspiracy so that ED could sit for 8 hours and arrest Sanjay Singh on the pretext that even after such a long time nothing was found.
Priyanka Kakkar said BJP can’t match their facilities
Priyanka Kakkar said, “It is true that Sanjay Singh ji used to expose the Modi government very vocally from the streets to the Parliament, this will continue. BJP has made many attempts to break Arvind Kejriwal ji. Modi government has tried to buy us but we were not for sale, they tried to break us, we did not bow down and now this fight will intensify. As Saurabh Bhai said, BJP is fast losing ground these days. BJP can’t match the facilities Arvind Kejriwal’s government provides in Delhi, Punjab. So, they want to eliminate AAP.”
She further said, “This is the first scam in the country which will boost government revenue. This is the first scam in the country in which 15 months have passed and not a single rupee has been found. Thousands of raids have been conducted but not a single rupee has been found because there is no such scam. We will fight this battle more vigorously now.”
