AAP’s Atishi Dispels Arvind Kejriwal’s Resignation Rumours Amidst ED Scrutiny, Says ‘No Need To Resign’

Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has no need to step down, according to Atishi, the Finance Minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Admi Party (AAP), and the party remains united in spite of the Enforcement Directorate’s operations.

Atishi’s Legal Interpretation

AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi responds to a question on whether Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will step down. She said, “There are two constitutional and legal provisions related to this in our country. Representation of the People Act says that if you have a conviction for more than two years, then you cannot remain a public representative.”

She added, “Arvind Kejriwal has not been convicted. Arvind Kejriwal enjoys the overwhelming majority of the Delhi Assembly, so there is no reason for Arvind Kejriwal to resign. If Arvind Kejriwal resigns today then it will be a very simple and straightforward solution for the Bharatiya Janata Party to topple the opposition governments.”

Atishi’s Accusations Against Bharatiya Janata Party

This occurs when the Finance Minister of the nation’s capital levelled serious accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party. She stated that she was approached by the saffron party, who threatened to take ED action against her if she did not join the BJP. “I want to inform everyone that the BJP, through a very close person of mine, approached me to join the party. I was asked to join the party and save my political career, or else I will get arrested by the ED in the coming month,” she said.

Press Conference Bombshell

During the press conference, Arishi also made a significant accusation: four senior AAP leaders will be arrested in the next two months in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. “In the coming two months before the Lok Sabha elections, they will arrest 4 more AAP leaders – Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi, Durgesh Pathak and Raghav Chadha.”
