Sanjay Singh, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), unleashed a vicious attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, accusing it of fostering corruption by allowing profit-making companies to provide hundreds of crores to the saffron party under the now-canceled political fundraising programme.
Allegations of Corruption
“Corruption has happened in the name of electoral bonds, tax exemption was given. Thanks to the Supreme Court, the complete data was placed before the public. The whole series of what I am revealing is that there are 33 companies which have incurred losses of Rs 1 lakh crore in seven years and have donated Rs 450 crore to BJP,” Singh stated during a press conference held at the New Delhi office of the party.
Tax Evasion Allegations
“There are 17 companies which have either paid zero tax or got tax exemption. Six companies have donated Rs 600 crore to BJP. A company has donated three times more than its profits. There is a company which has donated 93 times its profits. There are three companies which have donated Rs 28 crore and paid zero tax,” he said.
