Adani – Hindenburg row: The Supreme Court will enquire about and look into the claims made against Gautam Adani in the Hindenburg Research Report, according to a plea filed by attorney Vishal Tiwari. The Supreme Court has consented to consider the petition asking that the Central Government be instructed to form a commission under the supervision of a retired judge to investigate the Hindenburg Research Report.
SC agrees to plea seeking probe into Hindenburg report tomorrow
Petition mentions the matter for urgent listing before a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud Singh on Thursday. The bench also comprises PS Narsimha and JB Pardiwala.
Tiwari informed the bench that the hearing date for a separate case filed in the Adani-Hindenburg dispute is set for February 10. He continued by saying that the complaint relates to the Hindenburg Research Report, which has damaged the nation’s reputation and cost money. Furthermore, he requested that the bench hear both his and the independent plea on Friday.
Also sought directions to set up a special committee to oversee the sanction policy for loans of over Rs 500 crore given to Corporates.
Another PIL filed in SC seeking prosecution of Nathan Anderson of Hindenburg Research
Another PIL has been filed in the apex court last week by Advocate ML Sharma who has also sought prosecution of short seller Nathan Anderson of US based firm Hindenburg Research and his associates.
