The Delhi government has decided to cancel the Kanwar Yatra. Like Uttar Pradesh, Kanwar Yatra has also been canceled in Delhi. In such a situation, devotees will not be able to travel to Kanwar this year. In view of the possibility of third wave of Corona, the decision has been taken to cancel the Kanwar Yatra.
In view of the third possible wave of Corona, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has issued an advisory regarding the Kanwar Yatra. The advisory issued on Sunday said the national capital region is at risk of spreading the COVID-19 pandemic, which has already been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Measures to prevent its spread have also been suggested by DDMA. It has been said that the upcoming Kanwar Yatra will start from July 25.
BJP has also welcomed the decision of DDMA. Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has said that DDMA has taken the decision to ban Kanwar Yatra in public health interest. There is no need for any political discussion on this.
All the citizens of Delhi will respect this ban and we pray to Mahadev that by the holy Shravan month of Kanwar next year, the Covid waves will end and we can all join in Kanwar. Kapoor has made a demand to the Chief Minister of Delhi to ban the illegal market in Delhi.
