The Agnipath scheme has been tweaked by the Army to increase the criteria for Agniveers’ eligibility. Although the Agnipath programme seeks to hire talented Agniveers for technical branches, it will now be open to pre-skilled youngsters and ITI/Polytechnic graduates in the technical category.
The amendment will offer skilled candidates and those with vocational training extra emphasis in order to shorten the length of training.
