With great pride, Air India has announced that it would now operate flights between Delhi and Dubai using the Airbus A350-900, its newest aircraft. With this, the airline introduces the A350 to the global market, making Air India the only carrier of this model on flights between India and Dubai.
Introduction Ceremony and Cabin Configuration
Both the Dubai and Delhi airports had events to commemorate the start of these flights, when visitors were given A350 mementos. The A350-900 aircraft used by Air India has a three-class cabin layout with 316 seats available. This has 264 Economy seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 28 private Business suites. Modern entertainment systems and cutting-edge technologies are installed in every seat to improve the traveller experience.
A350-900 Features and Specifications
Three classes (300–350 people) can be carried on an Airbus A350-900 long-haul passenger aircraft. Its 15,000-kilometer range gives it great versatility for lengthy journeys. Two Trent XWB turbofan engines, the result of close cooperation between Airbus and Rolls-Royce, power the A350. Using state-of-the-art materials and technology, these engines draw on more than 70 million hours of in-service experience from different Trent variants.
Air India’s Expansion and Fleet Induction
At the moment, Air India flies to Dubai 72 times a week from five different Indian cities, with Delhi accounting for a large share of these flights. The prominent presence of Air India in the region is emphasised by this development. As part of the airline’s historic purchase for 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, Air India started adding A350 aircraft to its fleet earlier this year. Twenty Airbus A350-900 aircraft are part of this deal.
Enhancing Market Position with A350-900
Air India’s market share is expected to increase with the introduction of the A350-900, which has a 16–17 hour nonstop trip duration and exceptional fuel economy. With 25% reduced fuel consumption than its predecessors, it provides a competitive advantage for long-distance driving.
