Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday came forward to overwhelmed National capital on the request of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and has agreed to arrange for emergency supplies of oxygen from Himachal to New Delhi.
In a letter written to his Delhi counterpart, Thakur said the state is concerned about the situation emerging in New Delhi and would be more than happy to extend all possible help to the Delhi government in this unprecedented time. He said that officials of Delhi government may contact the Additional Director of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, for arranging the supplies of oxygen from the state.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal has expressed his gratitude towards the Himachal government of for its generosity, an official statement said.
The Delhi CM had on Saturday urged his counterparts of all the states and UTs to come forward and help Delhi with its Oxygen SOS as many of city’s hospitals continue to report high rise in deaths due to oxygen shortage.
