Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, claimed that India will be able to meet the target of a 20% ethanol blend in petrol in the next two years while he was in the Haryana district of Karnal on Tuesday.
Following the official opening of several projects for the Haryana Cooperative Department, including a Rs 150 crore ethanol project to establish plants in cooperative sugar mills with a goal of producing 9,000 ltr ethanol per day, Shah made the announcement during a speech at an event hosted by the Haryana Cooperative Export House (HAFED).
India plans to make 9,000 litres of ethanol every day.
Speaking at a meeting held at the Haryana Cooperative Export House (HAFED), Shah stated that the government’s primary goal is to ensure the manufacture of 9,000 litres of ethanol per day.
It is noteworthy that the Union Minister made this statement following foundation for many Haryana Cooperative Department projects, including a Rs 150 crore ethanol initiative to build facilities in cooperative sugar mills.
“How the ethanol project being started by the Haryana government will enhance the income of cooperative sugar mills,” he said.
Shah claims that if the government is successful in meeting the goal, oil import costs will be reduced by over 20%, eventually reducing the burden on the government.
Congress undermined the potential
Shah pointed out that the Congress-led UPA government had underestimated the use of biotechnology while knowing that it would help the nation’s economy while making fun of the previous regimes.
When the Narendra Modi government took office in 2014, the percentage of ethanol blended into petrol and diesel was less than 1%. We have reached 10% as of today. The Narendra Modi government will be able to meet the target of a 20% ethanol blend in petrol by 2025, he added.
