Amit Shah: Political blame game is on in Bihar after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s public rally in Sasaram was cancelled after ‘rumours’ spread that Section 144 was implemented in the city. While the administration denied implementation of Section 144, the BJP alleged that the Nitish Kumar government tried to deliberately stop Amit Shah’s rally.
Meanwhile, Shah is scheduled to address a public gathering at Hisua in Nawada district on Sunday.
Prohibitory orders were issued following communal tension during Ram Navami celebrations in Sasaram and Nalanda on March 31.
Nitish attacks BJP
On the other side, chief minister Nitish Kumar indirectly attacked the BJP. He told reporters that some people from the saffron party instigated violence. He ensured a thorough probe into the incidents.
Reports said president BJP leader Samrat Choudhary along with a delegation met the governor on Saturday, and handed over a memorandum for the violence during Shobha yatras in the two districts.
Meanwhile, after tensions in Bihar due to incidents of communal violence on Ram Navami in Sasaram, the state government imposed section 144 in Nalanda’s Bihar Sharif area. Five people were injured in the process of making crude bombs, and were seriously burnt due to an explosion.
Home Minister’s schedule today
Amit Shah will address a public gathering at Hisua in Nawada district. The BJP had organized a programme at Sasaram to celebrate the birth anniversary of Samrat Ashok. Shah was to address the public gathering. However, BJP cancelled Shah’s rally after a secion of media reported imposition of section 144 in Sasaram.
BJP state unit alleged that the district administration imposed Section 144 at the venue and in the entire Sasaram city and said they could not organise the event owing to the order.
However, Rohtas district magistrate Dharmendra Kumar and superintendent of police Vineet Kumar, denied imposing Section 144 in Sasaram. But the BJP still cancelled Shah’s event scheduled for April 2.
