Amrit Bharat Express Fares Set to Soar! 15–17% Higher Than Mail/Express Trains, Check Here

Amrit Bharat Express

Amrit Bharat Express: The fares of the soon-to-be-launched Amrit Bharat Express trains will remain 15–17% higher than the corresponding class of travel in Mail/Express trains, according to Indian Railways’ decision. The base fare for the second class unreserved coaches is approximately 17% greater than the unreserved coaches in other Mail/Express trains, a railway official told TOI.

Higher Fares for Enhanced Passenger Comforts

According to the official, this is because of the numerous extra passenger comforts in the train. On December 30, Indian Railways will launch the first two new Amrit Bharat Express trains, which will be piloted by PM Narendra Modi. The first train will travel via Ayodhya from Anand Vihar in Delhi to Darbhanga in Bihar, and the second train will travel between Bengaluru and Malda.

Minimum Fare for Second-Class Coaches

Indian Railways has maintained that the minimum fare for second-class coaches on the Amrit Bharat Express trains for trips up to 50 kilometres is Rs 35. This base fare is Rs 30 for a second class trip on a Mail/Express train. For travels up to 15 kilometres, the minimum fare for the sleeper class is Rs 46; for trips up to 50 kilometres, it is Rs 65.

Long-Distance Fares

For trips up to 5000 kilometres, the minimum fare will be Rs 933 for second class and Rs 1469 for sleeper class. The reservation fee, additional cost for Superfast trains, Goods and Service Tax (GST), and other charges are not included in this fare and will be paid separately.
