Anantnag Encounter: Drones Deployed to Assist in Counter-Terror Operation in Jammu and Kashmir

Anantnag Encounter: The authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have enlisted drones to aid in locating terrorists who have entrenched themselves in the forested, hilly terrain of Anantnag district. This operation, aimed at flushing out the militants, has now entered its third day following a tragic incident on Wednesday in which four security personnel lost their lives.

Utilizing Drone Surveillance
Officials overseeing the operation have reported that they are employing drones to pinpoint the terrorists’ exact positions within the challenging terrain. In an effort to root out the ultras, security forces have initiated mortar shell firings based on the intelligence gathered through drone surveillance.

Casualties from Wednesday’s Encounter
The encounter with the terrorists occurred in the Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Unfortunately, it resulted in the loss of four security personnel, including Colonel Manpreet Singh, commanding officer of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles unit of the Army, Major Ashish Dhonchak, Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Humayun Bhat, and one soldier.

The deployment of drones in this operation reflects the evolving techniques and technologies used by security forces to combat terrorism and protect the region.
