A teenage girl was discovered hanging from a tree on Wednesday in the Patna village in Dumka’s Kathikund block, roughly 250 kilometers from the state capital Ranchi, according to Superintendent of Police Ambar Lakra.
According to the SP, an FIR was filed based on the girl’s father’s claim that his daughter was murdered and hanged to give it the appearance of suicide.
The girl, according to Lakra, was a class 10 student. She shared a home with her grandma along with her younger sister and brother.
The girl’s father said in the FIR that he learned about his daughter’s relationship with a 22-year-old male through phone conversations they had.
According to the father, when he got in touch with the man to ask about his daughter, he suggested she must be someplace near Kathikund and asked them to go there.
