Arvind Kejriwal: A day after being granted temporary release from Tihar Jail on a Supreme Court order, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived at Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place on Saturday morning and offered prayers.
AAP’s Press Conference Schedule
Along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, Kejriwal arrived at Hanuman Mandir, where a group during AAP leaders and party workers had already assembled.
“With the blessings of Hanumanji, the prayers of crores of people and the justice of the Supreme Court judges, I am very happy to be back amongst you all,” the Delhi CM wrote on X. At 1pm, the party headquarters will host a press conference by the AAP national convenor. He will conduct a roadshow in Mehrauli, South Delhi, at 4 p.m., and then march to Krishna Nagar, East Delhi, to conduct another roadshow.
Kejriwal’s First Roadshow of 2024 Delhi Lok Sabha Elections
Kejriwal will be holding his first roadshow of the 2024 Delhi Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. Alongside Kejriwal on the roadshows will be Punjab Chief Minister Mann. Upon seeing Kejriwal in public for the first time since his arrest on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate in relation to the now-cancelled Delhi excise case, party workers were ecstatic.
Kejriwal issued a call to “save the country from dictatorship” after being released from prison. After being in judicial custody for 40 days, the chief minister of Delhi left Tihar Jail on Friday after being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court. His initial response was to express gratitude to Lord Hanuman and ask for help in putting an end to the purported “dictatorship” in India. He’s going to do a road show in Delhi today.
Arvind Kejriwal’s Call to Action
“I had said that I would come (out) soon. I have come. Before all, I want to pay obeisance on the feet of Hanumanji. I am among you due to the blessings of Hanumanji. I want to thank you all, millions of people from across the country sent their blessings and prayers to me. I want to thank the judges of the Supreme Court due to whom I am among you,”. Kejriwal said.
He added, “I want to request you to work together to save the country from dictatorship. I am fighting against dictatorship with all my strength, but the 140 crore [1.4 billion] people of the country will have to fight dictatorship,” while addressing party workers gathered outside Tihar Jail on Friday.
