New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Misra’s son Ashish Misra couldn’t provide proof of his whereabouts on October 3, sources told India Today. Ashish Misra could not give proof of his whereabouts between 2:36 pm to 3:30 pm on October 3, the report further added.
Ashish Mishra reached the Crime Branch office for interrogation in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence on Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma’s scooter.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court slammed UP government on Friday for not arresting Ashish Misra who allegedly ran his car over protesting farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri last week.
Hours after Ashish appeared before the police, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday said that “truth has triumphed.”
“Broke my fast with family of Raman Kashyap … After Ashish Mishra surrenders to join investigations. The Almighty gave me the strength to fight for a Just cause … Path of Truth will always Triumph !! #SatyamevJayate,” he tweeted.
Farmers’ leader Rakesh Tikait on Saturday called BJP workers’ death a “reaction to an action”, and “hum galat nahi mante hain (would not call it wrong)”, leader Rakesh Tikait said Saturday.
“The killing of two BJP workers in Lakhimpur Kheri after a convoy of cars ran over four farmers is a reaction to an action. I do not consider those involved in the killings as guilty (of a crime),” Tikait told reporters at a press conference – attended by other farmer union leaders – in Delhi.
