Ashwini Vaishnaw: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the new Vande Bharat Express train is a game changer for rail development projects in the country. He said this during a journey on the newly launched Vande Bharat Express. According to Ashwini Vaishnaw, PM Modi has announced that 75 Vande Bharat trains will connect all parts of the country. The minister said, “Today, we launched Vande Bharat Express from Amb Andaura, Una to New Delhi as part of this series. This is a world-class train that provides a more enjoyable riding experience. This model has more advancements and improved features, such as reaching a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 52 seconds and a maximum speed of 180 km/h.”
The Minister says the front section of the train can absorb kinetic energy
In response to cattle strikes on railway tracks, the minister stated that “In our country, railway tracks were at ground level. Every day, on average, 80 cattle were hit. It is a source of concern for us. The front section of the train is designed in such a way that whenever a collision occurs, the kinetic energy of the train is absorbed in it. Those who are making incorrect assumptions should understand that it is part of the engineering design.”
Every coach has now 32″ screens for passenger information and entertainment
Notably, the improved Vande Bharat Express will weigh 392 tonnes as opposed to 430 tonnes in the previous version. It will also include Wi-Fi connectivity on demand. Every coach has now 32″ screens for passenger information and entertainment, up from 24″ in the previous version. A photo-catalytic ultraviolet air purification system is installed in the Roof-Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) in the new Vande Bharat Express design for air purification. This system is designed and installed on both ends of the RMPU, as recommended by the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, to filter and clean the air coming through fresh air and return air.
