August Festivals 2023: In the Sanatan Dharma, several fasts and holidays are observed all year long. August is a holi month in this context because it is when several significant fasts and holidays are held. Additionally, on August 15th, the nation celebrates Independence Day. In addition, this month is home to a number of significant holidays.
August’s Shiva-centric Festivals, Fasts, and Celebrations
The month of Sawan has been split into two months this year due to an excess of months. This explains why August is the month when Sawan‘s particular festivals fall. This Shiva-centric month is unique for prayer and recitation just as much as it is for fasting and celebrations. The Sawan calendar has a lot of significant dates. The second monthly Shivratri of the month of Sawan will be observed on August 14. On August 19, this month, Hariyali Vrat is observed. The Hindu holiday of Nagpanchami is on August 21. Rakshabandhan, on the other hand, which honours the special bond between a brother and sister, will be observed on August 30.
