The weather of the national capital Delhi and NCR has changed due to the effect of Western Disturbance. Rain continues in most areas of the capital since midnight. Due to rain accompanied by cold winds, the minimum temperature has dropped. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted intermittent rain in the capital and adjoining areas today (Saturday).
However, due to the weekend curfew, people will not have to face problems like jam due to waterlogging. In fact, a 55-hour weekend curfew has been imposed in Delhi from Friday night amid increasing cases of corona. Exit is allowed only with e-pass for essential services.

However, due to rain, air pollution in Delhi can be reduced. The Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi is expected to improve. According to the Weather Forecast (IMD), rain activities will continue in Delhi till January 9. The Meteorological Department had also issued a yellow alert for January 8. During this, the maximum temperature can be around 20 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature can be around 11 degrees. After the rain, now the chills can increase.
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the next few hours in Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad. Even after getting a slight relief from the cold wave, the cold is now expected to increase in Delhi.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is in the poor category. However, it is being estimated that from today the level of pollution can come down. The Air Quality Index (AQI) may move from poor category to moderate level with slight improvement.
The AQI is ‘good’ between zero and 50, ‘satisfactory’ between 51 and 100, ‘moderate’ between 101 and 200, ‘poor’ between 201 and 300, ‘very poor’ between 301 and 400, and 401 and Between 500 is considered in the ‘severe’ category.
