Ayodhya Ram Mandir: After a six-day arduous foot march from Lucknow, 350 Muslim pilgrims arrived in Ayodhya and offered prayers at the Ram temple. The group left Lucknow on January 25 under the leadership of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, a Muslim outfit supported by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, according to MRM media coordinator Shahid Saeed on Wednesday.
Pakistan’s Critique
The Ram Temple’s building and dedication at Ayodhya, India, have been denounced by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The consecration ceremony is “indicative of India’s growing majoritarianism,” according to the foreign office of the nation. Pakistan also asked the world community to pay attention to the purported rise in hate crimes, hate speech, and Islamophobia in India.
Arrival in Ayodhya
The 350 Muslim devotees arrived in Ayodhya on Tuesday, chanting “Jai Shri Ram,” having walked around 150 miles in the bitter cold. He said after every 25 kilometres, they had a nighttime break and resumed their journey the next morning. Six days later, the pilgrims with their feet tired and their shoes worn out arrived in Ayodhya and offered their respects to the recently dedicated idol of Ram Lalla, according to Saeed.
No Faith Encourages Judgement or Contempt
He added that this act of worship by the Muslims sent a message of unity, integrity, sovereignty, and peace. “The devotees considered this dignified darshan of Imam-e-Hind Ram as an enduring and cherished memory,” he said. Following the darshan, the group was led by provincial coordinator Sher Ali Khan and MRM convener Raja Raees, who declared that Lord Ram is the ancestor of all.
Religion, caste, and creed are secondary to love for one’s country and fellow humans, as underlined by Raees and Khan. They emphasised that no faith espouses judgement, derision, or contempt for other people.
