Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Elaborate Security arrangements in place for ‘Pran Pratishtha,’ check event details here

Ayodhya Ram Mandir

Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for officials, visitors, staff, and volunteers at the recently constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Nripendra Mishra, the chairman of the Ram temple construction committee, said to NDTV today that the idol of Ram Lalla will be taken to the new temple today in preparation for tomorrow’s consecration event.

Transfer of Ram Lalla Idol

“Very soon, in a few hours, we will ensure the idol that is in the temporary temple is moved into the new temple. You will now have a standing idol of Lord Ram Lalla, and also the idol of 1947, which people believe suddenly appeared there. Both the idols will be on the throne,” Mishra told NDTV today.

“I suppose the priests and others, which the trust obviously has not clearly defined, they will take the old Ram Lalla idol, which is of a very, very young Ram Lalla, into the new temple,” he said. There are six temples along the 795-meter-long parikrama, or circuit that encircles the temple.

Devotees’ Ascent to the Temple

“… Devotees after climbing 32 steps (from the parikrama) will reach their dream, the dream of entering the temple; the dream which has not been fulfilled for the past 500 years. Devotees will now have the darshan or Lord Ram,” Mishra said. 10,000 CCTVs are monitoring people’s movements during the consecration event in Ayodhya, and police officers in plainclothes are stationed at the location as part of a multi-layered security setup.

Police are spotted monitoring the streets, from the heavily congested Dharampath and Rampath to the bylanes of the Hanumangarhi area and Asharfi Bhavan Road. On Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) also conducted a sweep in Ayodhya. This ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony is going to be a momentous occasion.

Elaborate Security Arrangements

“The Uttar Pradesh Police has made elaborate security arrangements and along with it, security has been ensured for every road along the entire red zone, yellow zone and Ayodhya district,” Director General (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar had said. Technology based on artificial intelligence is present in some of the CCTV cameras. At the programme location, multilingual police officers have been stationed in plain clothes. State and National Disaster Response Force assistance has improved security along the Saryu River.
