The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of the Rohini court, Satveer Singh Lamba, decided to hear the verdict on Tuesday after hearing arguments from both sides, on which he granted bail to Mandeep.

The court said that it is a principle of law that “bail is a rule and prison is an exception” and since the complainant, the victim and the witness are only police personnel, there is no possibility that the accused / applicant is competent to influence Will happen.

It is written in the operative part of the court order that,

“It is pertinent to mention that the alleged scuffle incident in the present case dates to around 6.30 pm. However, the present FIR was lodged at around 1.21 pm the next day. The complainants, victims and witnesses are only police personnel. Hence, this matter There is no possibility that the accused / applicant may be able to influence any police officer. Obviously, the accused is a freelance journalist. At the most, no seizures will be affected by the accused person. Therefore, the accused will be given judicial custody. It is not proper to keep in. It is a legal principle of law that “bail is a rule and prison is an exception.” Therefore, in view of the facts of the present case, the presentations on both sides and the totality of the circumstances, in keeping with the period of detention of the accused in judicial custody, the bail is presented to him in the amount of Rs.25,000 / -. Is accepted. “
