IG Vijay Kumar and Army Force General Officer Commanding Sanjeev Singh Salaria chaired a joint meeting of security officials in Bandipora, a day after two policemen were shot dead in the district.

DGP Dilbag Singh and IG Vijay Kumar reached their residence to console the families of constable Mohammad Sultan, who was martyred in the terrorist attack in Bandipora. He met the families of the victims and inquired about their condition. He said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police always stood by his family. The father of Mohammad Sultan, a resident of Shahwali Dangarpora in Sopore, is missing after the incident.
On Friday, terrorists attacked the police party in Bandipora. In this, the PSO and the driver of the SHO were martyred. After the incident, a search operation was launched after cordoning off the entire area. Those killed include Senior Grade Constable Mohammad Sultan (driver) resident of Sopore in Baramulla and Constable Fayaz Ahmed (PSO) of Lolapora Lolab Kupwara.
