Bangladesh Violence: Violent incidents erupted across Bangladesh after Friday prayers, as reports emerged of attacks on Hindu temples. According to a report by news channel Aaj Tak, three Hindu temples in Chittagong were targeted by miscreants, leading to widespread unrest. The situation worsened after the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, and violence continues to spread. Amid the growing tensions surrounding these attacks on Hindu temples, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has raised serious concerns.
RSS Raises Serious Questions on Bangladesh Violence
RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has expressed grave concerns over the ongoing violence in Bangladesh, particularly against Hindus and other minority communities. In his statement, Hosabale highlighted the rising atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, pointing to the killings, looting, arson, and violence against women by Islamic extremists. He condemned the lack of action by the Bangladeshi government and law enforcement agencies, criticising their silence amid the growing violence.
Hosabale said, “The attacks, killings, lootings, arson, and inhumane violence against Hindus and other minorities by Islamic extremists in Bangladesh are deeply troubling. The current Bangladeshi government and its agencies have remained silent spectators. Furthermore, the voices raised by the Hindu community in Bangladesh to protect themselves through democratic means are being crushed, leading to a new wave of injustice and oppression.”
RSS's Demand for Immediate Action on Bangladesh Violence
The RSS has strongly demanded immediate intervention from the Bangladeshi government to halt the violence against Hindus and other minorities. The organisation has also called for the immediate release of Chinmoy Krishna Das from custody, as his arrest has only fueled the unrest. The RSS urges the Indian government to take all possible measures to stop the ongoing atrocities in Bangladesh against Hindus and work toward creating a global consensus to address the situation.
Hosabale’s statement further condemned the unjust detention of Chinmoy Krishna Das, an ISKCON monk, and called for his release. The RSS emphasised that the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh must end immediately and urged international bodies to take action.
