Batla House encounter: Court gives death penalty to terrorist Ariz Khan

The court has given the decision to sentence the hanging of Batla House Encounter to Ariz Khan. On Monday, the court has given this decision after the debate on the sentence in Saket Court of Delhi. The court has considered this crime as the rarest of rare case and has described Ariz Khan as a threat to society.

11 lakh fine also imposed

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Sandeep Yadav started the debate on the sentence at 12 noon and also imposed a fine of Rs 11 lakh on Arises. Of this, 10 lakh rupees will be given to the family of Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma in the Delhi Police who were martyred during the Batla House encounter.

DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav of Delhi Special Cell said that this is a very good decision and will boost the morale of the police and team involved in the encounter. This is a true tribute to Inspector Mohan Chandra Sharma who lost his life in the encounter.

Earlier, the court had reserved the verdict on Ariz sentence till 4 pm. The police had requested the court to sentence Ariz Khan to death in the murder of Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma. In the previous hearing, the court convicted him. Ariz Khan was arrested by Delhi Police in 2018.

The court convicted Ariz Khan under the Arms Act and sections 302, 307 of the Indian Penal Code. Ariz was absconding since the 2008 Batla House encounter case and was arrested from Nepal in 2018.

Terrorist Ariz Khan has been convicted for the murder of Inspector Mohan Sharma, who lost his life in the Batla House encounter. At the same time, Ariz also tried to kill the policeman Balwant Singh-Rajveer.
