Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Karnataka for one day, held a 2-kilometer-long roadshow today in Mandya district. PM Modi is being showered with flowers by BJP supporters and locals during a road show in Mandya. Following the roadshow, PM Modi will dedicate to the country the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway and IIT Dharwad, as well as lay the groundwork for several projects.
PM Modi lays foundation for Mysuru-Kushalnagar Expressway
The Prime Minister will dedicate the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway to the nation at approximately 12:15 PM. The project entails widening NH-275 from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta and Mysuru to six lanes. The 118-kilometer-long project has a total cost of roughly Rs 8,480 crores. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, it will reduce travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru from approximately 3 hours to approximately 75 minutes and will act as a driver for socioeconomic growth in the region.

He would also lay the groundwork for the 4-lane Mysuru-Kushalnagar Expressway. The project, which would span 92 kilometres and cost roughly Rs 4,130 crores, will help cut travel time in half, from about 5 to 2.5 hours.Later in the day, at 4 p.m., Modi will arrive in Hubballi-Dharwad to launch the Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad, the world’s longest railway platform at Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station, and to lay the groundwork for several development projects. Karnataka will hold Assembly elections later this year.
