The results of the Phase III trial of COVAXIN, a vaccine from Corona developed by Bharat Biotech and ICMR, have come to light. Bharat Biotech has reported that this vaccine has been found to be up to 81% effective. Along with this, information has also been given that this vaccine developed in India is also effective on ‘UK variant’ virus.
On behalf of Bharat Biotech, it was said that 25,800 people of the country were tried on it. Which was the largest ever trial conducted in partnership with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
In this trial, 25,800 people were vaccinated, which is the largest trial till date in the country. The government has already given emergency approval to this vaccine and PM PM Modi has also taken a dose of it.
Opposition parties and many experts raised questions as to why the vaccine was approved before the third phase trial data came out. For this reason, many people hesitated to get this vaccine. However, PM Narendra Modi had given the message in the second phase of vaccination by getting the vaccine that the vaccine is completely safe.
The Indian government has already allowed emergency use of COVAXIN. Prime Minister Modi has also taken the first dose of COVAXIN in Delhi’s AIIMS two days ago. Let me tell you that a lot of questions were raised by the opposition about the use of COVAXIN in the country. The vaccination campaign started in the country from January 16, in which COVAXIN and Covishield vaccines are being given to the beneficiaries.
