Big Relief For Arvind Kejriwal! Delhi High Court Dismisses PIL Seeking CM’s Removal, Upholds Non-Interference Principle

Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal: An important step forward was taken on Thursday when the Delhi High Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that sought to remove Arvind Kejriwal from office as Delhi Chief Minister following his ED arrest. The court declared at the case hearing that there is no room for judicial meddling.

Assertion of Non-Interference

The Delhi High Court stated at the case hearing that the other branches of the government should investigate the problem legally. The court declared, “There is no scope for judicial interference and we are not supposed to get into the political thicket.”

LG’s Potential Intervention

The court also said that it is within the jurisdiction of the executive, hence the decision can be taken from there only. The court has rejected the petition saying that after taking stock of the current situation, LG can intervene in this entire matter. It is known that while taking action in the alleged liquor scam case, the Enforcement Directorate had arrested Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
