Bihar: On Saturday, two coaches of the 2397 Up Gaya-New Delhi Mahabodhi Express became disconnected from the train’s engine, averting a grave disaster.
According to railway officials, the incident occurred between Karwandia and Sasaram railway stations on the East Central Railway’s (ECR) Deen Dayal Upadhyay-Gaya division.

No one was injured
According to officials, the Delhi-bound express train was carrying at least 1,300 passengers, but no one was injured.
“The train and the parted coaches remained on the track and were not derailed otherwise, a major accident and casualties could have happened,” railway officials stated.
The train was going smoothly and on time when two bogies, coaches 8 and 9, became dislodged from the engine between Sasaram and Karabandia stations, according to Ranjan Kumar, a passenger.

Railway officials rushed to the scene
Railway officials and engineers raced to the scene and discovered that coach no. 8’s coupling had been disconnected from the train, but the coaches were still intact on the tracks. Officials stated that after connecting the bogies to the engine, it was back on track for its destination after 40 minutes.
Around 1,300 passengers on the train’s 19 carriages were unharmed.
Rajesh Pandey, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), stated that an investigation had been launched to determine the causes and flaws in the occurrence.
