The Wayanad district leadership of the BJP has submitted application for a house for the Wayanad MP under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme, days after Congressman Rahul Gandhi claimed that he still does not own a home.
Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, made the declaration recently in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, during the Party’s 85th plenary session.
According to reports, the BJP leadership asked the Kalpetta Municipal Corporation for a house to be assigned to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme.
On Wednesday, BJP leaders, led by K P Madhu, the district president of Wayanad, went to the municipal council secretary and submitted the plea.
Leadership of BJP expressed how sad it is that Rahul Gandhi does not own a home
The leadership of the BJP in Wayanad expressed how extremely sad it is for the residents of Wayanad that their MP Rahul Gandhi does not own a home. So, we also took action for the Wayanad people.
“They (BJP leaders) were mocking Rahul Gandhi for his statement at the Congress’ plenary session that he is 52 years old now and still does not own a house,” said sources at Kalpetta Municipal Corporation.
