Uddhav Thackeray: The tussle between BJP and Shiv Sena continues with both the sides launching scathing attacks at each others. In the latest, Uddhav Thackeray has said BJP’s love for cows is a mere pretense and their Hindutva policy changes in every state as per their political needs.
BJP changes colour of Hindutva: Uddhav Thackeray
He took to Sena’s mouthpiece Saamna to hit out at the BJP amid ongoing ruckus which involves Election Commission granting Shiv Sena symbol to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Uddhav Thackeray said BJP “change the colour of its Hindutva and terms as per its national need, but the party gets restless after seeing others do the same.”
“Their Hindutva wasn’t trouble when they formed the government in the sensitive state of Jammu and Kashmir with Mehbooba Muti, who had been strongly opposing BJP’s Hindutva. It’s the same when it comes to their position on the issue of beef, “ he said.
The editorial further stated that BJP teaches morality lessons over cows, turning protectors, however, when it comes to Goa, Meghalaya and other BJP-ruled states, the issue of beef goes unnoticed.
‘I eat beef’: Meghalaya BJP chief
Uddhav Thackeray, in his op ed, also mentioned a recent statement by Meghalaya party chief on consumption of beef.
Recently, Ernest Marie, the Meghalaya BJP chief, said that the party has no problem with beef consumption. “I eat beef and I am in the BJP, there is absolutely no problem with this,” he said.
It also pointed RSS general secretary, Dattatreya Hosabale’s statement in which he said that the party’s doors are not closed for anyone. “We work on the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the whole world is one family)’; therefore, our doors are never closed to anyone. If anyone has eaten beef out of helplessness, and they have left dharma, still, we cannot close our doors on them,” he had said.
