Brigadier Sanjay Mishra conferred Ati vishisht seva Medal by President

Brigadier Sanjay Mishra, an ophthalmologist originally from Mau and settled in Lucknow, was honored with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.

The award was presented by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, during a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

It is noteworthy that Brigadier Sanjay Mishra is believed to be the sole military ophthalmologist surgeon who performed surgeries on two Presidents of India while serving in the armed forces.

These surgeries included procedures conducted on President Draupadi Murmu and President Ram Nath Kovind.

The Ati Vishisht Seva Medal is bestowed to recognize exceptional and distinguished service to all ranks of the armed forces during peacetime. It holds a similar level of distinction as the Uttam Yuddh Seva Medal, which is awarded for exceptional service during wartime.
