Budget 2024:Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman‘s Budget 2024 came with big-ticket announcements for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. It could be a big push toward infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development in the two states.
Bihar’s Bonanza of Development
He announced plans for a new airport, medical college, and highway to drive infrastructural growth in Bihar. These will serve to improve connectivity, thereby improving access to health services and the local economy. For the government, there is an outlay of Rs 26,000 crore for different road projects. It will smoothen transport and boost local economies.
Besides, the Centre will ensure funding for such projects through the support of multilateral development agencies. The Centre will hasten such external aid requested by the Bihar government from these agencies, thereby implementing such key infrastructure projects without any delay.
Besides, the government has decided to construct sports facilities here for the benefit of both nurturing local talent and helping the entire resident community get accustomed to living a healthy lifestyle. These are integral parts of the gigantic ‘Purvodaya’ scheme that aims at comprehensive development in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh .
Additional Financial Support of Andhra Pradesh
There is special financial support for Andhra Pradesh in Budget 2024 via multilateral agencies. A heavy reach has been afforded to the Pollavaram irrigation project, which will definitely work wonders for the farming community here. Recognizing that this is an absolute need, the government was keen on allocating more funds to see the completion of this project.
“Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act- Our government has made efforts to fulfill the commitments in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Recognising the requirement of capital by the state, we will facilitate special financial support through multilateral agencies. In the current FY, Rs 15,000 crore will be arranged with additional amounts in future years,” said the Finance Minister Sitharaman.
This funding is envisaged to spur capital investment and economic growth in the state. Effectively speaking, the very fact that the Union government has agreed to implement what was promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act testifies to its commitment to the cause of development in this state.
Education and Economic Growth
Besides, the Budget announced e-vouchers for 100,000 students every year, giving a 3% interest subsidy on the loan amount to help students pursue higher education and skill development, thus freeing them from huge-interest loans.

Delhi will get Rs 20000 crore
Let us tell you that Atishi, Education Minister in the Delhi Government, said about Budget 2024 that “We hope that Delhi will get Rs 20,000 crore in the budget this time. The people of Delhi give Rs 2 lakh crore as Income Tax and Rs 25,000 crore as GST to the Central Government. We hope that we will get at least 10% of it. An amount of Rs 10,000 crore should be given for infrastructure and Rs 10,000 crore for MCD”.
