The second leg of Budget Session 2023 commenced on Monday on a chaotic note with BJP and Congress battling it out with words. In fact, a BJP MP also went to seek an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his UK remarks. Following the uproar over Rahul Gandhi’s remarks made during his recent visit in London, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till next hearing.

The budget session was adjourned till tomorrow after Union Minister Piyush Goyal demanded an apology from Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his remarks at the Cambridge.
Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikaarjun Kharge said that BJP is not abiding by the rules. This lead to a heated argument between the two parties, forcing the Lok Sabha to be adjourned till tomorrow.
After Piyush Goyal, defence minister Rajnath Singh also sought an apology from Rahul Gandhi. ”Rahul Gandhi, who is a member of this House, insulted India in London. I demand that his statements should be condemned by all members of this House and he should be asked to apologise before the House,” he said. He further said that the Congress MP sought international intervention in matters related to national interest which should is beyond tolerance.
“Rahul Gandhi in London said that MPs were not allowed to speak in Parliament. This is an insult to Lok Sabha. The House speaker should take action against him on this statement. A sedition case should be registered against him for insulting our democracy,” Giriraj Singh, the Minister of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, remarked, as per ANI.

BJP leader demands sedition case against Rahul Gandhi
Meanwhile, the Minister of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Giriraj Singh said a sedition case should be filed against the Congress leader for his remarks.
“Rahul Gandhi in London said that MPs were not allowed to speak in Parliament. This is an insult to Lok Sabha. The House speaker should take action against him on this statement. A sedition case should be registered against him for insulting our democracy,” he said.
