With proper security arrangements, the PWD team took bulldozers to demolish the illegal construction near the opposite mosque on Mathura Road in Hazrat Nizamuddin area. Within no time, the team razed the illegal construction. Right now the work of removing debris from the spot is going on.
Statement of Mazar’s Caretaker Yusuf Baig
The caretaker of the mazar, Yusuf Baig, says that this mazar is about 500 years old. This is from the time when there was neither a road nor a footpath here. Then they had said to remove some part, but we removed 13 meter part, yet action was taken. The PWD team removed the tin shed, broke two rooms and walls.
Bulldozer was run in Vasant Kunj area on March 6
Earlier on March 6, a bulldozer was run on illegal construction in the capital. This action was taken in Vasant Kunj area. However, only one building was demolished. The aggrieved party had made serious allegations against the Delhi government regarding this.
Significantly, a retired soldier from the Navy was building a house on Ram Mandir Road in Vasant Kunj area by taking land. On this, the MCD started the work of breaking the bulldozer. The victim alleged that Delhi cabinet minister Kailash Gehlot’s property is right next to his land. Action was taken after his complaint.
