The new Governor of West Bengal, CV Anand Bose took oath on Wednesday. He took over as the Governor of the state in Kolkata. During this, the Chief Minister of the state Mamta Banerjee was present. After taking the oath, the Governor also met CM Mamata.
Who is Anand Bose
Anand Bose is a retired 1977 batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service. He was from Kerala cadre. He retired in 2011. He was made the new Governor of West Bengal on 17 November. He has replaced La Ganesan on this post.
Mamata expressed grief over the violence on the Meghalaya-Assam border
Chief Minister Banerjee expressed grief over the violence at the disputed site of the Assam-Meghalaya border. Mamata said on Twitter that I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident of death of six people in Mukroh, Meghalaya. I express my heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this struggle. I pray that peace and harmony prevail for the better.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Banerjee made a big statement on the National Register of Citizens (NRC). He asked the people of the state to ensure that their names figure in the electoral rolls to avoid being sent to detention camps in the guise of implementing the NRC. Mamata was addressing a program to distribute land pattas.
