In yet another mishap, a car, racing backwards, rammed into a crowd in Bhopal during the immersion of a Durga idol, leaving a youth injured. The accused has been arrested, police said.
The incident took place on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday near a railway station at the Bajaria crossing. It was captured on camera and it showed a vehicle racing backwards and ploughing into the crowd that had gathered for the immersion of a Durga idol.
The video showed a grey-coloured vehicle. There were two-three people inside the car.
Irshad Wali, DIG, Bhopal Range said the accused has been arrested and the car has been seized. He said a youth was injured in the incident, he was rushed to the hospital and his condition is stable now.
Police have started an investigation into the matter and have also scanned the CCTV footage to identify the number of the vehicle.
