CBI: Prior to the next Interpol General Assembly, in which 195 countries are expected to attend, the Central Bureau of Investigation made its first appearance on Twitter and Instagram, according to officials on October 2.
With user ID CBI_CIO, the investigative agency set up accounts on both platforms for the 90th General Assembly, which will take place from October 18 through 20.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in contrast to its rivals, the Enforcement Directorate and the National Investigation Agency, had avoided using social media and instead relied on the time-honored method of releasing news releases.

The focus of the General Assembly, according to officials, will be on a number of topics, including child exploitation materials sold online, financial crimes, and cybercrime.
On the eve of its 75th anniversary of independence, a referendum gave India an unexpected opportunity to host the celebration.
Earlier, when Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Stock visited India, Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a suggestion in this regard to Stock.
The General Assembly, which meets once a year and includes delegates from all 195 member nations, is Interpol’s highest administrative body.

They claimed that one or more delegates, who are often ministers, chiefs of police, directors of their respective Interpol National Central Bureaus, and senior ministry officials, may represent each member country.
India is one of the organization’s founding members and joined Interpol in 1949, making it one of its oldest members.
With its headquarters in Lyon, France, Interpol was established in 1923 as the International Criminal Police Commission (ICPC). The CBI is recognised by Interpol as the National Central Bureau of India.
