Lakhimpur Kheri violence: Lakhimpur Kheri violence case has reached the Supreme Court. SC has written a letter to the Chief Justice (CJI) regarding this matter.
Advocates Shivkumar Tripathi and CS Panda have written a letter to Chief Justice NV Ramana, in which both these lawyers have appealed to the CBI to conduct a judicial inquiry into the incident under the supervision of the Supreme Court. It is written in the letter that it has also been said in the media reports that the farmers’ protest for their demands was peaceful, but taking such action on the demonstration is also a violation of human rights which is also a blow to the democratic process.

It has been appealed in the letter that an FIR should be registered in the entire incident and the accused minister’s son should also be punished. Along with this, action should also be taken against the guilty officials and the minister and his relatives involved in the incident has been said in the petition that the lower court should order a time bound investigation, agency like CBI should also be included in the investigation and a high level inquiry should be conducted under its supervision in the matter.
Apart from this, orders should be issued to the Union Home Ministry to register an FIR. Also, action should be taken against the minister involved in this barbaric incident.
