The Centre informed the Supreme Court on Friday that the Electoral Bond Scheme-2018’s funding process for political parties is “completely transparent” and that it is now “impossible to collect any money in black or any unaccounted form.”
“The process for receiving the funds has been quite transparent. Step by step, we will walk the court through it. It is now impossible to obtain any cash in an unauthorized or unreported manner… To a panel of Justices B R Gavai and B V Nagarathna, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta remarked, “It is the most transparent system.
To increase openness in political fundraising, electoral bonds have been proposed as a substitute for financial contributions to political parties.

While the petitioners claimed that the electoral bonds scheme involves some anonymity, the Union Government claimed that the electoral bonds system is totally transparent.
The court also stated that it will take into consideration the petitioners’ request to have the matter referred to a larger bench.
A threshold hearing could be held, and if the court deems it necessary, the matter could then be forwarded, according to Attorney General R. Venkatramani.
