Chandigarh News: Chandigarh welcome its first ‘Rupee Store’ where people can just buy everything at just Rupee 1. The store encourages the concept of 3R,which is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. People can buy anything like books, clothes, stationery, briefcase at the cost of Rupee 1. People had earlier deposited many old books and textbooks for the needy. The books can be of help for the Poor children, slum kids and any other child who wants to read. The store has been inaugurated by the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh. The main purpose of the store is to collect items for those in need.
‘ We aim to open more RRR Centres’
Officials say that the aim of the city’s first rupee store is to promote the practice of following the 3R( Reduce, reuse and recycle) and also help people who can’t afford. In this store people can buy any item like t shirts, suits, crockery, trousers, etc. Chandigarh Mayor also said that with this mantra of reduce, reuse and recycle, reusable items have been made available to the needy people in the villages and other areas. He also said that apart from these temporary RRR Centres in the 35 wards of the city, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has also started a permanent RRR centre at the New Bridge Market near Jagat Cinema where people can bring their reusable items to donate.
