Chandrayaan 3: A humorous reaction from Mohsin Ali, a cricket analyst from Pakistan, has surfaced following a critical remark made by UK-based journalist Patrick Christys about Britain’s assistance to India. The exchange was triggered by India’s successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, which brought attention to the journalist’s criticism and drew criticism itself for its apparent racial comments.
British journalist asks for withdrawal of ‘Aid’ fund
The incident took place when Patrick began his broadcast by congratulating India for its notable accomplishment. However, the mood swiftly shifted, and online users characterised it as an envious and racist outburst. The journalist went on to call for the withdrawal of the £2.3 (More than Rs. 24,000 Crores) billion aid that had been provided to India. On July 14, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft commenced its mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. After a successful journey, it touched down near the lunar south pole on August 23.
A widely circulated video on social media recorded Ali’s clever comeback. He suggested that the journalist’s surprise and perceived envy could be attributed to the impressive strides made by a former colony like India within just 77 years. Ali emphasised that the journalist might find it challenging to come to terms with such rapid progress, especially in the field of space science.
In the video, Ali playfully remarked, “Gore bade pareshaan hai” (The fair-skinned are quite troubled). He went on to say, “Hum ek dusre ko celebrate bhi karna jaante hai. Inhe burnol bheje, inhe phool bheje” (We know how to celebrate each other. Send them Burnol, send them flowers), displaying his quick-witted and humorous reply.
