Arvind Kejriwal: In a counter-protest, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attempted to march towards the Delhi Secretariat in order to demand the resignation of the chief minister, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is protesting against Kejriwal’s incarceration. According to the police, Section 144 has been put in place outside the Prime Minister’s house in response to the AAP’s protest, and no authorization has been given for protests.
AAP Leaders Arrested
AAP members, including party leader Somnath Bharti, Punjab minister Harjot Bains, and Chandigarh mayor Kuldeep Kumar Tita, have been arrested by the police. Meanwhile, the BJP has asserted that the government cannot flee from justice. “CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal is incarcerated. Thus, in good conscience, he had to step down and hand over his responsibilities to someone else, BJP MP Harsh Vardhan told PTI.
Police Action at Protest
When the BJP workers marched towards the Secretariat in protest, police used water cannons to force them to resign. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, is being held by the ED in connection with the Liquor Excise Policy case. Kejriwal, who is being held by the Enforcement Directorate, gave another directive on health services in the nation’s capital on Tuesday from behind bars. The Delhi excise policy case involved claims of money laundering, leading to his detention by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
