Chhath Puja 2023: Today, November 20, is the final day of Chhath Puja. The final day of Chhath Mahaparva is the fourth day, or Saptami Tithi. Water is offered to the rising sun on this particular day in the morning. This brings the Chhath festival to a conclusion. Nahay-Khay is the first of Chhath Mahaparva. Following this, the days that follow are referred to as Kharna on the second, Sandhya Arghya on the third, and Usha Arghya on the fourth.
Details on the auspicious timing for offering Arghya
The eastern regions of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar celebrate Chhath with considerable fanfare. The Chhath fast is followed to promote the long and joyful lives of children. Method of Usha Arghya
- Keep your Face eastward on this day when you give Arghya to the Sun God.
- Use a copper vessel to offer Arghya at all times.
- Always hold the water vessel with both hands when presenting water to the Sun God.
- Seeing the sun’s rays falling on the edge of the lake is seen to be extremely auspicious while presenting Arghya to the Sun.
- When presenting Arghya, place whole red flowers in the vase.
Breaking the Fast
Usha Arghya brings the four-day Chhath Puja to a close. After giving Arghya to the rising sun on this day, the Chhath fast is broken. On this particular day, those who fast arrive at the river ghat prior to sunrise and present Arghya to the rising sun. After that, offer prayers to Surya Dev and Chhath Mata for the children’s happiness, as well as the contentment and harmony of the family.
